How To Make a Spicy Margarita

This Spicy Margarita is not for the faint hearted. We make this margarita mixer with fresh jalapenos, and homemade chilli salt, so if it’s spice you are searching for, look no further! Use good tequila, like Olmeca Altos or Patron to insure the best flavour.

Ingredients

40ml 100% agave tequila, like Olmeca Altos or Patron
Ice
Wedge of lime
Chilli Salt
Garnish of jalapeno slice

Equipment

Clean, empty jam jar
Shot measure

Method

  1. First, prepare your glass.
  2. Run the lime wedge around the edge of your glass, and dip and twist your glass into chilli salt, to create a salted rim.
  3. Next, lets make your Margarita!
  4. Combine tequila and Foxglove mixer into a clean empty jam jar.
  5. Shake for 15 seconds to combine the cocktail.
  6. Add ice and shake for another 10 seconds, to chill your cocktail.
  7. Strain into your prepared glass, over fresh ice.
  8. Garnish with a jalapeno slice, and enjoy!

Bonus Tip

When purchasing tequila, make sure the bottle says ‘100% blue agave’ or ‘100% blue weber agave’ . This ensures that the best and purest ingredients have been used to distill your tequila, from the Blue Weber Agave plant. Tequilas like ‘mixtos’ have been mixed with other ingredients during the distillation process – and can lead to unpleasant cocktails, and even more unpleasant headaches the next day!
